Default 1985 VDO clock repair or replace

Does anyone have good suggestions for low cost replacement of VDO clock ?

Aurthorized VDO repair shop in Palo Alto wants $128 repair or $249 new.

I would check with No. Hollywood (CA) Speedo, on Lankershim. They have fixed a number of clocks for me, all worked perfectly, and if the cost to repair is significantly less than a new one from Porsche then that's the way to go.

How about checking with a Rennlist sponsor? I don't think neither NoHolly Speedo
nor Palo Alto Speedo are Rennlist sponsors. Are they? Many sponsors have
multiple souces for rebuilt parts, e.g. Pelican Parts.
