Default Goop underneath Master Cylinder??

Fellow Listers:

I am rebuilding a 1966 911 coupe and if memory is good, there was not any gasket or "goop" meaning sealer between the master cylinder and the chassis to keep water from coming in.

I was thinking that a little brushed seam sealer around the inside of the master cylinder flanges would keep most of the water out, but are there gaskets available?

What have others done? Nothing is an option too!!

Thanks in advance, Tom
