WinterPorsche
There is no salt 99% of the time here. In fact, it is only due to living here in the Interior that I was able to justify the purchase. Vehicles tend to stay clean here all winter for the most part, and don't rust. I have a '89 Cherokee that has a lot of paint rubbed and scratched off but no significant rust. Humidity is a lot lower as well, and there is usually not much wind here so winters are actually much more enjoyable than in the Great Lakes where I come from. Every vehicle is an experiment; so far, so good.
There's something beautiful about Porsches in "weather". Maybe it's because it's really quite rare. But I love to see photos of these cars in the rain and snow.
I know, I'm weird...

Fairbanks is so cold (unlike Anchorage) that salt is not effective.
re Porsches in "weather" - one of my favorite photos is a 917 in the rain with headlights on, boring thru the weather to win Le Mans.
Enjoy that powder!

I know...it's only been 6 months since purchase, so there have been a number of times when I felt like that Steve McQueen quote from Le Mans, paraphrased: "Driving my 911...is living...all the rest...it's just waiting..."
