Paint the brake booster and polish the aluminum bracket thats holds it all in place. In the annals of silly undertakings, this has to rank among the silliest. But once I started, I was past the point of no return. The bracket is a really rough aluminum finish, and required hours and hours and hours of sanding to smooth it out. The concave corners were a huge pain. My job isn't perfect (still a few rough spots), but it looks OK from a couple feet away. And the worst is that there are air bubbles in the casted aluminum. As I rough sanded down the surface, the air pockets would appear. If I continued to sand material away, more would appear as others disappeared. It was maddening, and the biggest air bubble of all appeared right smack in the middle of the most visible portion of the part. It was too deep to sand it out. Argh. I finally just had to give up and go with it.
