I don't really know 74s, but are you SURE you want to a car buy off eBay? Unless you can see it, drive it & send it to a garage for a Pre Purchase Inspection, you might be in for a lot of pain. Rust would probably be the biggest concern in that vintage & you would want to have a thorough inspection. Internet pictures do lie.

BLKA4 That is excellent advice from mcarthur. I saw my '78SC on Ebay, but was lucky that it was less than 10 miles from my home. I think you can narrow your search down to a zip code or city in your area.

You mean the yellow 75, right?

I would say that car is already overpriced at 7K. A high-mileage mag-case 2.7 with no rebuild?

Yikes.

Repaints hide rust. Large portions of a 75's tub were not galvanized.

I'd make sure you got a very thorough PPI before buying a car like that.

Figure 8K for an engine rebuild, on a car that won't be worth much more than 12 when you're done.

What type of A/C or smog pump is that on the left side? My 74 had a York compressor that was original to the car and it was located beside the oil filter. Is something wierd here?

BTW, Ditto on the "find one a bit closer to you" advice. I bought an old Chevy over the internet w/o any hesitation, but you can buy a brand new performance engine, transmission, & driveline for them for the price of a cheap 911 rebuild.

My experience is that E-Bay is a good place for someone to get their car seen. Then call the person and try to buy it with an inspection that you or a shop can do. That is my opinion and a much safer bet than gambling on a clean vehicle. Bring cash and ask the bottom figure up front. Show them the Money! It works...

Good Luck seeing the car in person. Bring a knowledgeable friend.

That car is too much of a mish-mash for my taste. I agree you should take along someone knowledgeable when you go to see it, as to me it looks like the basis for a track car project at best.
