anyone have info on that 70's 911 track car with CF......
It was once Quebec plated, then Florida or somewhere nice and warm.
Silver early 70's 911 gutted.
custom dash, lexan windows, CF body panels....
I'm looking for pics and info on this beast if anyone can help.
I've seen it posted here and in Panorama and on a few other forums, but can't seem to find it through the search.
please and thank you.

Hi David - I think you're talking about my car (if not, sorry for being presumptuous). If you email me, I can send a few photos...

Randy - It's powered by a 2.7L race motor on a 7R case built by Jack Refenning in Florida and case work by Ollie's in Calif. Mahle 9.5:1 pistons, rebuilt MFI (by Pacific), 930 oil pump, lots of updates. 8,000 rpm redline and about 240hp. It really screams

Yep, Luke's right, 1,890 lbs. Actually, that was before I put on the 930 Brembo 4-piston brakes and much bigger rotors, so it's now just over 1900#...

So the brakes slow it down in both directions At 1900#s and that big of a heat sink, you could probably ride around the circuit with your foot resting on the pedal and still have thermal reserve.

Luke - Part of me hated to add the extra rotating/unsprung weight, but the complete absence of fade (and the peace of mind that brings) at my track which is very hard on brakes is worth the sacrifice. I was able to fade the standard brakes pretty easily before - now I can't even make the brakes consider fading. It's true that you don't generally need huge brakes on a light car, but you need to remember that with very light weight and relatively high horsepower, the car is traveling alot faster than before when you get to the braking zone, so there is still a fair bit of heat generated on some courses. Ever see the brakes on a 73RSR? They're not there for show. Granted, an RSR is slightly heavier, has alot more rubber and a good deal more power, but those brakes are pretty serious! The calipers dwarf the 930's...

Grant:
1. Just giving you flack, and someday I'll upgrade the "S" calipers too.
2. Watch your attachments, there was some issues, check email for details
3. Thanks for pictures
