I got in the Infinity Kappas (4" rears, 6 1/2" fronts), installed the rears last night. As suspected, the rears were both blown (backs stamped "ITT - Made in Germany" - I assume those are original?).
I kept the square grilles, again assuming they were also original. I didn't use the crossovers provided, instead opting for the full spectrum output.
I also re-thought modifying the door panels, and ordered up a pair of 5 1/4" Kappas today for the fronts. Maybe I'll get them in time for Christmas. Anything to help out the aging Blaupunkt "New Orleans" deck.

Got the 5 1/4" Kappas in tonight, put them in up front. They do not sound as deep as the 6 1/2's did, FWIW, but still a heck of a lot better than the ones that were in there.
Sounds pretty nice without the engine noise; as soon as I get a clear-road day I'll take her out & see what it sounds like on the road.
