Porsche Windstop for 911 Cabs
Someone from the list e-mailed me, inquiring about installing a Porsche factory windstop in a 1991 911 cab, but his e-mail address isn't accepting e-mail. So, here's the information:
The factory windstop lists for around $450, but Sonnen Porsche always seems to have it on sale at ~$375 (see http://www.sonnen.com). I ordered it from them over the phone (they're in California and I'm in Washington, DC), and it arrived a week or so later.
Installing it is really, really easy. All you need to do is remove the black plastic caps in the rear side panels (near the rear speakers) and replace them with new caps (supplied with the windstop) that have holes in their centers. The plastic caps pop right out. The windstop plugs into the holes in the new caps. The other anchor points for the windstop are the small metal loops in the rear corners of the car's interior (fold down the rear seats and you'll see them).
