My 3.6 transplant is almost complete
I have already posted much of this info on my website and on another popular BBS...but thought I would share it here as well.
This all started early winter after I was contacted by Harald Julicher about the purchase of a 3.6 engine and even the possibility of having it installed by him as well. I made a trip to the southern area of Germany to see one of his previous projects...and that was all I needed to see! The only hold up at that time was the money, but as I promised Harald we would be able to go forward with the install late Feb 03. I was a little late in getting the money so it didn't start until March 16th. The projet included the install of the 993 (3.6) engine, install performance chip, new Bilstein HD shocks, new Euro Headlamps and tail lights, and a custom fab exhaust! The only other requasts I had have are to lower the car, and with the exhaust work I want 3.5" dual out. Thanks Harald for the great work and a thanks to Ingo for his help while in Germany.

Shawn Bro!
I am in fact going to make a nice video...in the spectrum of "Getaway in Stockholm"...just a little more on the legal side. Ha Ha
My buddy and his Fairlady Z have a camera setup, and I am working on a camera mount for mine. There is a real nice backroad here and plenty of unrestricted autobahn to get some good/fast footage. It may be a few weeks for editing and such, but there will be a video!

K9,
I'm curious. What transmission went into your transplant?
I have similar plans for a 71' 911T. More like a 3.0SC motor with a 915 transmission. I would really like the modern synchros of a G50 trans, but I understand there are a couple of hurdles. Additional weight requires coil over springs, and some body modification is needed for fit. I'm not sure I want to go that far.

Totally Stock for Now

I stuck with the 915 tranny...a lightweight flywheel...and the same clutch, although the clutch seems to be the part that will be the weak link...so a better clutch is needed to hold the high torque.
