The most common use of '915' in the Porsche world describes that transaxle used in the 911 from 1972-1986.
The 911's that had 915 transaxles in them are known for Fuchs 5-spoke alloy wheels, but were available with a number of other wheels, as well.

Hi PCMAX: I don't know what you read but "915" designates the type transmission used in 1972 - 1986 911s. They came in a variety of versions including 4-speeds (you're not likely to ever see one) and 5-speeds, with or without limited slip differential, and coolers (Euro only). Their cases were made from magnesium (early) or aluminum, and early versions had a 7:31 ring & pinion, while '76 - 86 cars had an 8:31. Hope this helps!
