Post Trying to finish my Fuchs wheel project...

Spent many hours polishing the wheels and masking/painting, now I just need to find a way to get the center caps to match the finish of the polished "spokes". The center caps appear to be cast from pot metal or some inferior alloy, and won't polish due to the porous nature of the metal. Any recommendations, or brand/type of paint that will get me as close as possible?...

Send them to Al Reed. For a few bucks he'll polish and paint the crest.

Kevin--
it depends upon the center caps. If they were not originally polished, I doubt you'll be able to polish them (ask me how I know).
I just did a set of polished caps with hand painted crests - email me at steven_rosenzweig@yahoo.com if you're interested. (I can't get the upload photo link to work).

How about some pics and instructions on how you went about it? I've been thinking about doing my own.

I'll get something together.
Just had new Kumho 712's mounted today and the wheels are back on the car...all the effort was worthwhile!
