I was worried about this when I was searching for my car. G50 or 915? I agonized over it and finally drove a few examples. The G50 is nice but isnt even close to being worth a major premium over the 915 (to me). The 915 is easy to drive, shifts just fine and feels great.
Bottom line, go drive a few of both and see if the G50 and bigger engine (3.0 vs 3.2) is worth it to you.
Cheers!

Of course the newer cars with the G50 are worth a few grand more. They are newer with improvements that came along with each new year until 1999 (IMO). If you have the money buy the nicest and newest 911 with a G50 you can find. If you don't have the extra $$ buy the nicest and newest SC you can find. Both have almost bullet proof engines. Both will give you lots of smiles.
Why else would we buy them.
