Default Pics of my recently acquired continental orange 911SC

I sold my Boxster, which was a spectacular car, in favor of this 911 and lower payments. I love it so far. Finally got a chance to clay and wax it this afternoon. The pics are from delivery day, not after detailing today.

Details: 78 911SC, continental orange (pretty sure it's been resprayed in the original color), color to sample orange interior (all original), 16 in. Fuchs, sunroof, fog lights, AC, and cruise control. 44,000 original miles.

Nice looking exterior, but I can not imagine driving with that interior! Was the original buyer some sort of pro athlete?

Nice looking car. I like the color. I even like the interior! Sets it apart from every other car out there.....
Its not red, silver, black or white.........with a black interior.

Oh yea, my 82 is white with a black interior!

An all black interior, like mine is like looking into a black hole. It sucks in all of the light and even some nearby small solar systems, so many of the details are lost.

Brett:

What a great find! Excellent colors too! You car averaged only 1600 miles per year... Plus, the chrome window trim is cool to see too.

I think the car looks great. The orange is very cool. I'm thinking polished paddles on the fuchs might look nice also.

(btw, if it was a pro athlete, I'm guessing Dutch national soccer team)

Very nice find. I LOVE Orange 911's. I thought the factory color was called Signal Orange? Maybe I just don't know whats-what as to the years offered.

Let me second the vote for the fully polished Fuchs with black masking. Call Al Reed Polishing in Anaheim, CA if you decide to do it...you will not be dissapointed. Great, car, great find.

P.S. Just curious, how did you happen to hear about this beauty? Was it advertised somewhere and you bought it in the first 5 minutes?!

The original owner, as I understand from the 2nd owner, was a doctor in Las Vegas. Service receipts in the car and the original owner's manual support that.

Continental orange from 1976-1978. Signal orange from 1970-1975. I use paintscratch.com as a reference for factory colors and years.

The car was advertised on collectorcartraderonline.com. The seller said he had had it up for a couple weeks. I remember seeing it on ebay a month or so ago, and I asked him about it. He said he got no response on ebay. I'm guessing because he was clueless (He called the color German racing orange.) and because his price was too-good-to-be-true low. Thankfully he only had it for 2-3 years and 3000 miles. I gave him his asking price immediately and drove it home a couple days later. I couldn't let it slip out of my hands.

Yes Brett, you did score. A beautiful original car, but also not your run of the mill color scheme. Take care of it, maybe it'll be worth a premium as it ages.

That orange interior is amazing.

You sure the previous owner wasn't the president of Sunkist?
