Default 1976 2.7 will not start.

This car hasn't been run in 15 years. We have clean oil and it will build up a steady 22psi of oil pressure when cranking with starter. We pulled all the fuel lines from the fuel distributer and all 6 lines drip clean and at a consistant rate with each other.

We were not getting any spark in the distributer or power to the coil so we ran power from the fuel pump to the two prongs on top of the coil. We also disconnected the white and black/purple wire that come together at the male connector on the back of the distributer and ran a hot wire to it from the top of the coil. This part is weird. According to the wiring diagrams I looked at, the white wire should be the + coming from the ignition box and the black/purple goes to the ecu or something. But the white wire is spliced and grounded to the engine block. Will bypassing the igniton box like this work? We can get the plug wire coming from the coil to gap a spark with the body, however it is a small spark. The distrubuter has a spark in it. The engine won't start and the plugs are new. We still need to check for spark at the plugs. Any ideas or input.

If your car is like the '76 Euros then you all you see at the points is LT - this triggers the HT side and generates the umpph at the plug.
