I wonder if anyone can help with a baseline setup for timing and carbs for the engine below. TIA for any help
Hi there,
The 914 engine (in Speedster kit) the following specs.
Running 205-50 YOK's on cast Fuch replicas, VW swing axle trans.
If you can find the carb jet specs and timing.
2 liter 914 (Ser. # GA 008516)
Original pistons, re-ringed, valves apparently in good shape.
Engine is fresh, maybe 25-30 miles.
Scat C-25 cam. Distributor Bosch 009 mechanical, Pertronix kit.
New Weber 40's, 28mm venturis, K&N filters,
12V Blue Coil, plugs Bosch Super W7CC.
Exhaust is 2 glass pack (2" dia.) bullet mufflers , one per side, not joined or
"tuned" on short 6-10 primaries. No length at all, mufflers are tucked right up
by the heads.
Can you find the recommended Weber jet sizes for this application?
Any recommend on timing at idle and at (3500?) rpm?
Are plugs right at W7CC? They appear slightly rich to begin with.
Thanks,
RM
