Question 3.2 burp's

As a new owner of a 86 911 3.2, I notice a "burping" at idle, or going slowly. It seems to run a little rich also. It has no cat convertor. What do you folks think my problem is. It runs great on the road, but Im a little concerned. Thanks

By "burping" do you mean a miss? What mods and manufacturer's have been done to the car? Chipped? Who's? We may help you better then, with much more info. How many miles on the odometer, etc.
regards,
Steve

Car has 80k on it, no mod's that I know of, but dont know the past history, only a clear carfax, 3 owners. I guess you could call it a miss, when I put it in the garage tonight, if was at idle, and it was burping, missing, etc. Also, I could smell a strong odor of rich running exhaust. When I took it for a drive today, about 5 hours total, it seemed to sound "heavy" in first and second gear. I've read about the aftermarket chips, would this help. thanks

Get your mixture set right, my 3.2 was running irratic until I did. Idle hunting, strong smell of left over fuel, once set, the sound of SSI's and a Dansk 2 to 1 sport muffler it is a thing of beauty.

Is the O2 sensor still connected? If not, reconnect it.

Thanks guys, Ill give it a try and take a look. I took out a plug tonight, { what a job that is}, and it looked good, slightly white-ish, but not bad.
