targa tails
I am getting ready to have some body work and paint work on my 77 targa, and am really considering adding a tail, but not sure which type yet. If you could send me some pics of your targas with different tail, and front vallances it would help me out greatly.

You know if you add a tail, you need to, at a minimum, add the Porsche rubber valance extension, to balance the effect of the tail. There's another thread going on where the impacts documented in Paul Frere's "Porsche 911 Story" are posted.

Frankly, I wouldn't add a tail to a targa... Coupes are OK with tails, but not Targas.... IMHO.
If you absolutely must, consider a ducktail + a Carrera side script decal.

I have also toyed with the Idea of a tail on my 84, I like the RS ducktail but alas, its the wrong vintage and don't know if it would look right what do you guys think? I like the Carrera tail that would have originally came on the car but a certain wrecking yard in socal wants almost the same price as a new one!

its a matter of taste, but...
I've never been keen on the tails, but the 84 targa I ended up buying had the sport pack. I'll have to admit its grown on me. I also like the idea of a little less tail lift during high speed corners, but I don't really know if I've ever really used the extra grip. When I think about it I'm not that fussed how it looks, as long as it goes, fast.
