![Question](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I've just bought myself a 1975 911S Silver Anniversary Edition that was found in a barn where it had been parked for 10 years. I've got a big project ahead of me, and figured I'd come here for a little info and guidance.
So, I've got a few questions.
1. Is there an easy source for verifying the identiity of this car from VIN and engine numbers?
2. Where can I find out what the original options on this car were, so that I can restore it to its former glory?
3. Is the Silver Anniversary Edition a rare find, or is it just a 1 x 2" plaque on an underpowered 2.7?

1.) There are a variety of reference books available -- The Original Porsche 911 book from Morgan, The 911 Red Book. Post the numbers. If no one else replies, I'll check those books on my shelf when I get home from work for you.
2.) You can purchase a certificate of authenticity directly from Porsche. It's about as close as you'll get to a complete list.
3.) Yes. The Silver edition is rare.

Thanks. Numbers are: VIN 9115200851, engine: 6550355.
I know there were only 1500 Silver Anniversaries built, 500 of which were coupes imported to the US, but is that cause to keep EVERYTHING showroom original, or will I be destroying an incredible find if improve the brakes or have a custom engine rebuild done?
