Default Yellow H4 Lenses

I was given a set of yellow Bosch head light lenses, I like the look on my white 911 as the fogs were recently changed to yellow. Does any body know if these are legal in the states?

if you dont see any others, they are probably not, as even fog lights are white, but they look very cool and european, run them anyway, worst case scenario you get a fixit ticket and half to spend 15 minuets putting you stock ones back in.

I saw one other guy running them locally, had them on for a couple of years now and had never been stopped, but he did not know if they were "legal".Anyway, I put them on yesterday and took the car out last night , love it.

I can't speak for NY but believe they are not legal in CA, although a couple people seem to run them.

I'm not sure why you would want to compromise the headlight's performance by going to colored lenses?

Yellow headlight lenses are NOT typical European. They were used for the French market and were not legal in most other countries although you may see some old Citroen or Renault with them in other countries.
IMHO they are not particularly attractive as they are remote from the original typical German Porsche looks.
And they certainly are less effcient in terms of lighting power.
Of course I have nothing against the French...

damn!

personally i think frenchies are hot! (yellow lights=frenchies.. you have to have yellow llights in france)

they are big with the r-gruppe crowd, and are very race inspired as well. (check out alot of races run at night, like the 24 or 12 hour enduros, many have amber lights)

You sure they're H4 and not H1 lenses? Seen them for H1,never for H4.
I like 'em too, but don't think they compliment my Guard's Red car.
Saw new in box sets of H1 yellows at Ventura Autofest 2 wks ago for $100/pr. That's the cheapest i've ever seen them for. A guy in Europe frequently sells them on Ebay, and will ship to USA. Total after shipping = $160ish/pr.

Think i'll stick w/ clear H1 headlight lenses, but looking for used (ie cheap) LEFT (drivers) side foglight lens in Yellow for '86 Carrera.

Mike, they are H1 lenes but also fit H4's. I was given a set new in box, didn't know they cost that much.

Cool. fyi, the lens/beam pattern is different on H4 vs. H1's, since the H1's have 2 bulbs (one high beam, one low).
Post a pic....let's check 'em out!!!!!!!!

enjoy

I have yellow shatterproof plastic H4 lenses on my Euro Cup car.
Bought them from Performance Products about 2 months ago; $99/pr - 20% discount coupon.
They also sell the same lenses in clear, in both smooth face and std (ribbed).

All,

Does the glass come off the "bucket" on an H1 or H4 assembly? Or in other words, how do you swap lenses?
