Post Factory Weights

What basis does the factory use for their published weights? For example, on the 3.2 Carreras, A/C, power windows/locks were standard, so is their weight included in the 2750#? I don't know of many cars without sunroof, but don't know if it too was standard. Lastly, does the weight include a full, half or whatever fuel tank (the difference is significant). Any passengers, driver?

If anyone knows I would appreciate it. A G-tech is coming this week and not having a scal nearby I'll have to calculate the weight of the car.

Thanks Group !

I will take an educated guess at your question. I believe the weights Porsche discloses in the owners manual and Technical Specifications Book are base DIN weights. This means they exclude the weight of optional equipment.

You have to keep in mind that equipment that is standard here in the US, is optional in Germany.

Paul - just for reference my 1986 Targa weighs 2800 lbs (no driver) as follows:

7/8 tank of fuel
7/9" Fuchs
Power windows
Functional AC
B&B full exhaust
