Air Cond. wont shut off
The A/C on my '86 Carrera Targa doesn't blow cold air. Nothing new. I had turned it on over the weekend just to get some air blowing thru the vents while in line at an auto-x. Now after I turn off the car, I hear what sounds like a fan running from the A/C ductwork in the engine compartment. The key is not in the ignition, all climate controls are off.
I stopped it by pulling an electrical plug off of the black A/C ductwork on the left of the engine. The car runs fine. The A/C vents will still blow air if I turn it on. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

Billy,
Sounds like you have a relay stuck. There is an excellent troubleshooting article in a "Up-Fixing der Porsche" and if you do not have a set of them its well worth the money.
Email me if you want me to scan it and send it to you...

the A/C relay is in the front smuggler's hole. the only plug that would turn off the engine mounted heater booster fan is on the fan itself. it's relay is under the black plastic cover to the left of the engine. the round black one.
