Post Need Headcount for Cup air tubes

Ok,

I'm looking at having a small batch of these made. For a batch of 10, to cover my cost, they would be $145 each, not counting shipping. They will be made of carbon fiber and have the spout for the distributor vent built-in. They'll be slightly lighter than the original, but I don't know how much (a couple people actually asked). I won't make a dime on these, and I haven't calculated any sales taxes I may pay, so I may actually be underwater slightly. Plus I have to pony up the cash up-front.

I haven't been able to get the price any lower. This is a complex part to make, with the bends and flat section (to clear the engine lid), and I'm having a reproduction made, as opposed to a strictly functional replacement piece - no worries about fit or performance that way.

These are great for people who have 3.6L conversions in early cars and can't/don't want to run the heater blower. This setup delivers much more heater volume than most cobbled-together setups I've seen. They're also great for other 964 owners who want to shed a little weight (on their car, that is) and lower their center of gravity.

If you're interested, email me at thom@calweb.com

This is what an original one looks like. This is my own, from which the repros will be made.

Here's an example of the fit and finish of the product, in this case it's a BMW intake setup.

For anyone who wants to install the cup pipe in a 964 and remove the auxiliary fan, there's an article on John Miles 964 site at www.porsche964.co.uk under the technical section that tells how to do that.
