Default fuel pump and fuses

i have an 82 911 and every once in a while after i have been driving the carand it gets warmed up and i shut it off and then try to restart the car after about a 1/2 hour the fuel pump will blow a fuse but this only happens every once in a while its not like it happens all the time
i would appriciate any help or thoughts

your fuel pump(s) are probably gone, what happens is when they heat up they start to seize, amperage goes up and the fuse blows, (ive had a 930 that started to cook the fuel pump wiring at the fuse box!) if its your front pump, the metal shavings have gone throught the rear pump so change them both and dont tighten the securing clamps too tight either. (I would bite the bullet and change both pumps, filter, and the relays and clean the fuse box so you dont have to have that second guessing feeling in the back of your mind "when will the other one go?").

fixnprsh is probably correct. I'd do an amp draw test and confirm good wire connections at the relay, etc.
