Truth is there are plenty of early 911s in great shape that don't have "an abundance of rust." I know because I bought one. But a rusty early 911 with a potentially seized engine sounds like an efficient way to empty your checking account. Have fun.

That was pretty much my impression on moving from NY to NC,
and not just about Porsches. I was used to seeing 10 year old cars literally break in half
and 5 year old cars with rust holes in the side that you could stick a 2x4 thru.
