Default 2500 Mile Tour

Just returned to the UK on Friday after taking our 83 SC on a 12 day tour round Europe.
Passed through Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy & France.
Took the 911 round the Nurburgring for a few laps....AWESOME & scary!!
Drove over Swiss passes at 2500m, drove round the Monaco GP circuit (at 5mph in traffic!!) & got the Porsche up to 150mph on a deserted German auto route.
Averaged 27mpg over the 2300 miles & she never missed a beat.....not bad for a 21 year old car!

WOW...what a holiday....what a car!!

Here's a few pics....

Belgium near Spa.

Italy just after the Mont Blanc tunnel

And Cannes

I'm so jealous.......i can tour america, but the highway traffic cops don't like my traveling speeds. I will do a trip in mine some day, probably up to the seattle area and back to LA along the coast.

Nurburgring!!! I'm jealous. =)

What color is your SC? It's a very nice maroon.
Looking at options for re-painting my '74

Did a similar trip in '98, but in a 2.0 L turbo Diesel. fuel mileage excellent, 'scare' factor @ Nurburgring not so awesome in that car. Always wanted to do it in a P-car! congrats!

Re: reliability. Yep they are good old stallions, but sometimes they decide to play with you, just to prove your loyalty. Gald that didn't happen to you.

Hi Uber
I'm not 100% sure of the colour name, someone told me they thought it was called wine red.
The colour code in the original German owners manual is [ X7X7 XF ]
As the car was originally supplied in Germany I suppose it could be a German market only colour, not sure.

Here's another picture :-)
Yes that is a 2 mitre deep snowdrift in August!!
