I am looking for recommendation about the best subwoofer that can be installed in the Speedster and whether under the passenger seat is the best location or there are better options...

There are a lot of different subwoofers on the market today. I suggest you take the car to a trustworthy local shop and talk to them about speaker options, location, and overall how you want it to sound and look.

 

Funny, I just ordered one. My 996 had a very small subwoofer (400w 6x8)by a company called Rockville. It fit perfect and sounded amazing so i picked one up for my 89.

 

I installed the Sub from Retro Sound from Summit Racing in my 3.2. Not going to **** off the neighbors kind of sub but it filled in the missing low sub sound the car needed.

It fit under the passenger seat.

 

Focal isub 2.1 under passenger seat and as a bonus it amplifies the door speakers.
