Default Stuck Brake Caliper?

I recently got my car back from the dealer because I complained of noise from my brake pads already at 5-6k miles, and noticed the caliper looks to be stuck. And they said everything was normal. Just “spirited driving”. Any advice?
Note. I just replaced them 5-6k miles ago.

If you suspect a brake caliper is stuck, get that wheel off the ground and spin the wheel by hand.

If you have to exert significant force to get the wheel to rotate, then chances are the caliper is indeed stuck.

However, if you can rotate the wheel with one hand with the brake pads dragging slightly on the rotor, the caliper is probably OK.

Hope this helps.

I don't think the caliper would be stuck - our calipers are fixed. More likely there is an issue with the piston on that side. Either frozen or not fully retracting.

But we're not talking about an older air-cooled are we? Don't you have a 991? The vented rear discs made me suspicious you had a newer car. I think you accidentally posted in the wrong forum.

So you have two pistons in the caliper, but your rear braking system is a lot more complex than ours since traction and stability control will also actuate the rear brakes even when you are not on the pedal.

See this thread. Sounds like rear brake pads wearing out before the fronts is not unusual, but they should be even. Looks like a caliper issue: https://rennlist.com/forums/racing-a...-pad-wear.html

I'm curious if the pad is wearing evenly - is the top of the pad wearing faster than the bottom, or vice versa? To me that would suggest one of the pistons is not right.
