Angry 915 Tranny PLEASE HELP

Hey guys, the 911 has been sitting in the garage for over a month now with a tranny problem that hopefully someone has experienced and can help. I made a forced shift from 4th to 2nd. the shift did not sound or feel good but it went in to gear. When I went to shift gears again it made this sound between shifts like a whine and I lost 2nd and 4th. I readjusted the coupler when I got home and now it goes into every gear but still whines in between gears. Could this be as syncro? it does it in between every shift though. Bent shift fork? any sugesstions, It still goes into every gear fine (a little resistence before it goes into gears) and holds the gears fine. WHAT COULD THIS BE? If you know anything about 915 transmissions please help, I really want to get her going again.
Thanks,
James

If you applied enough force to knock the shift coupler out of adjustmet I supposed you could have bent a shift fork. If it were my tranny, I would first drain the fluid and check the magnetic drain plug for any metal bits. Specifically look for dog teeth as they are a tell tale sign that the syncros are long gone. After draining I would remove the shift guide fork access plate to check that it is tight against the plate, and then fish around with your fingers inside feeling for metal bits. If there are no metal bits, and the shift fork guide fork is tight against its plate, button it back up, fill it and drive it. Nothing against the experts here, but you might try posting this over on the Pelican parts discussion board and get the advice from the experts over there also. Good luck with your findings.
