Post Flowmaster muffler?

Hey I'm diligently at work on my 3.0 conversion and had a thought. Given my metal working edxperience and equipment I could install a 3" inlet dual 2.5" outlet Flowmaster muffler on my SC with little trouble for a neat dual exhaust system but I'm wondering if you guys have ever heard what it might sound like? I can do the whole setup for under $100 so I'll probably try it anyway, just wondered if anyone had any input.

If I recall Jack Olsen uses one, or used one. His is installed with a 3.6 so the noise level issue might not be as bad with a 3.0. Check this thread for some info.

Jack is not the only one, several Pelican heads are using <a href="http://forums.pelicanparts.com/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=95212&sortby=lastpost&sortorde r=descending" target="_blank">Flaumeister</a> mufflers.

My brother installs them on Carreras and SC's at his garage in the Bay Area. He has one on his Carrera if you'd like to hear how they sound - sound great. Email me for info if you'd like one. It's a single three-chambered flowmaster with a dual outlet. Extremely lightweight.

Flowmasters are pretty loud on a Porsche. They were on my car when I bought it. Too load for me. I put a stock one back on with a test-pipe which is loud enough for me. I guess for less than $100 it is worth a try, otherwise I would say listen to soemone elses before you install.

Here is a clip from Leland Pate's SC with a 1 in-2 out Flowmaster. Click on Leland.

Sounds great! And loud is NOT a problem, I'm used to two chamber flow masters on big V8's. Reason I asked about the sound was that flowmasters sound stupid on a lot of small cars mainly 4cyl. I was just curious whether it would enhance that flat six sound or ruin it. From the sounds of that clip, it's an enhancement.

It sounds good. Like it's midway between a 911 race car and a GTO.
