There's a tech article either here or on Pelican (I can't remember which), showing detailed photos of the whole process with the bar on the car.
Like dj393, I did mine on the car; I used Wurth's semi-gloss rather than Matte. Also very pleased with the results

Never use Armor All.
Use 303 on all your plastic before waxing, and you won't stick wax anywhere you don't want it. Some people even put it on their tires (side walls of course). Works on leather too.
