Post Idle issue 84 cab

Hi everyone,Today while driving in 70 degree weather I got caught in heavy traffic' Lots of stop and go. I noticed my idle was acting erractic going from 950 to 1800 and would n't stop until I let the clutch out and covered the break to keep from hitting the car in front of me. Any one ever experience anything like this. The car is an 84 3.2. I mean about the idle .

It sounds like your air sensor might be malfunctioning? Another consideration, but less of a concern to me would be your head temp. sensor...after all, in 70deg. stop and go traffic, those heads are getting pretty HOT!

SO, if your temp. sensor is malfunctioning, that might be the culprit, but I doubted as I haven't seen many of these fail.
