8x16's are usually pretty easy, so long as you're looking for the 911 (and not 951) offset. You could probably get a pair for $700-$800 used, or I believe Wheel Enhancement in Los Angeles still sells them new.

Jack alluded to this but there are 2 very different 8x16 Fuchs out there
version 1 aka 911 8x16 has a +10.6mm o/s and is suitable for use on 911 rear
version 2 aka 944 8x16 has a +23.3mm o/s and is suitable for use on 911 front
version 2 also has extra clearance for big brakes
some additional wheel fitment info here

Caution
The 944 based 8x16s will fit under the front fenders so you can stuff 225-50-16s in but you'll probably rub and have to roll the fender lips - - can be traumatic for the Porsche fanatic.
What are these running now? (If you can find them.)

Bruce, you could run 225/45-16s on the 8x16s in the front. They are almost an inch shorter than the 225/50s. That's what I'm going to try when my 225/50s (on 7x16s) need to be replaced.
