Drove another candidate in my search for a 911SC. This is a 2nd owner car, 62K miles, carrera tensioners, big stack of receipts. The car was repainted recently, and the original PPI done by the current owner a few years ago indicated the pain was bad, with a small dent, and a mark on the front right inside wheel well (looks like it it a curb hard or something. The entire strut assembly was replace). Has new clutch, interior is in good shape. It drives pretty tight...the steering is a tad loose (tie rod ends or torsion bar?), but not too bad. Also when coming to a stop the car settles a bit, then rises when accelerating. The rear shocks are original and probably in need of replacement...could this cause the settling? Also has new motor mounts.
Asking $16,500. Thoughts?

Do a carfax - seriously doubtful that the car has only 63k being 18 years old w/that amount of prior damage. There is no such thing as a older 911 without a story here in southern california according to my experience.
You could probably find a Carrera with about 100k that would be more of a car for the money.

Post the vin# and I will run a couple checks for you... (Carfax, Autocheck & NICB)- as long as it has a 17 digit vin I can tell you if the miles are right (with some degee of certainty) and if it really is a two owner car.
