Default Das Sport Roll Bar

I'm looking for information on the Das Sport Roll bar. I'm considering purchasing the bolt in weekender bar, but would like to get some feedback first....

I track my '81SC 7 - 12 time / year and would like the additional peace of mind of a roll bar, but I don't want to have to start drilling holes and tearing apart the interior.

Does anyone have any experience with or opinions on the Das Sport? Are they as safe as other bars (Autopower for example)?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

thanks,
Matt

I have a Das Sport bolt in roll bar in my 87 cab. I'm very happy knowing I have the extra security. It went in without changing or welding anything. I had to remove the rear seat backs. Nothing more.
I assume you have a coupe for the track, you have to remove the front seats to get it in and out. A bit more of a chore. If it is a track car, no need to do it more than once. Install and forget it. It is definately safer.

I had a DAS bar in my 81SC, and it fit fine. Lower feet sit on the sills (vs on the floor like Autopower), as I recall the back seat rests have to come out so the back legs can bolt in. If you have Recaro SRD's, there can be some interference if you need to move the seat all the way back, which can be solved without much difficulty. I would want to ask about the difference between the weekender and race roll bars, especially if they are both bolt-in.
