Your best bet for a toolkit would be Ebay or a Porsche swap meet. Be prepared to pay a couple hundred for a complete clean toolkit. Another source would be 20th Street Auto Parts in Phoenix. Look them up on the web, they take in a lot of salvaged Porsches and sometimes they have the toolkits. If you're going to do a search on Ebay be sure and search for "Porsche toolkit" and "Porsche tool kit".

I purchased the Porsche air compressor from someplace on the Web. I have the name of the place at home, I'll look it up when I get there. Ebay sometimes has these as well.

Try MSROADRACE.COM. They have several kits available. I bought one for my '74...decent price, I think and in nice shape.

The air compressor is available on eBay right now, and I'm pretty sure I saw the toolkit in the last few days so it's probably still available too.

Thanks for the tips. I have been looking on e-bay for both but was starting to call recyclers etc advertising in excellence and panorama to get a better feel what they are selling for.

regarding the toolkit, what year kit can i use for an 88? will an sc kit work (78-83)if it's a good deal or should i look for 84-89 kit? <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Carrerachas, ask yourself what you want the toolkit for. Only a few of the tools are really useful and they can be picked up seperately pretty easy. If you want the complete kit, for say concours events (or just because you want it), then you need a kit from 1987-1989.

And while you're at it, if you have a coupe with a sunroof, you should probably make sure you have the manual sunroof crank. It should be stored in the headliner. Unzip the headliner and you should find it.

oklahomaforeign.com has original parts, if you want it for show or concourse. Otherwise, pick up a compressor at Walmart and build your own toolkit based on need.

Performance is having a 20% off sale.
