Looking For Some Help
I AM LOOKING AT BUYING A 1985 911 TARGA. THE ASKING PRICE IS 17000 CANADIAN BUT IT HAS 230000 MILES ON IT. HE SAYS HE REBIUT THE MOTOR 50,000 MILES AGO BUT I AM ALITTLE WORIED WITH THE HIGH MILAGE THE THE REST OF THE CAR MAY BE WORN OUT
ANY HELP AS THIS IS REALLY ALL I CAN AFFORD

You quote the proce in Canadian; I wonder if the 'mileage' is in KM? if so it has <140,000 miles on it...not too scary if you have service records and a careful check done including compression and leakdown. I would want to know who rebuilt the motor and what documentation he has, like parts list or better, build sheet.
You say this is all you can afford. I understand; I'm a poor guy too, with a 15 yr.+ addiction. Any car like this you buy, you should allow at least CDN$2,000 for incidentals, more if it needs tires or other consumables.
If needing a cushion bothers you, perhaps you should be looking for a nicer SC for less money so you have spare cash for the inevitable repairs and upgrades.
It really never ends, just ask my wife! My 911 is called the GD around here. As in: "Are you buying something else for that Gol Durn car?" " Do we have to go out in that gol durn...." well you get the idea. 'Cept it isn't gol durn
