Question 87 Coupe Value

Looking for opinion on what a reasonable price is to buy this car. New to the 3.2 market, so....

1987 Coupe
Venetian Blue Metallic ext, black int
45k miles
sunroof
front and rear spoilers
rear wiper
16" alloys
sport seats
A/C

Valves adj at 30k, full 45k service to be done. Book is stamped, two owners
Excellent condition, no paintwork

What say you on price? And has anyone seen this color in person?

Based on recent posts, the car in question could bring $22,000 to $25,000 (or more), depending on it's condition, outcome of a PPI, location and if the current owner does the 15k service.

Venetian Blue is a great color in person.

You'll probably get a lot of replies with pic of Venetian Blue cars.

Good Luck,

Jay

Venetian Blue - under 50k miles, NE, Coupe, Sport seats, - 25K to 30K maybe more - stick it at AIC or Holt and get 35K.

Unfortunately Chicago is a bit of a hike from where I am. Great looking car though. What do you think on price for the one I outlined?

My .02. Considering the low miles and your location, probably 20k to 22k.

I bought almost that exact car six months ago -- for $24k.

1987 911 Carrera Coupe
47k miles
Venetian Blue
Blue leather
LSD
Sunroof
no spoilers
Total respray -- glass and rubber removed -- (an 8 out of 10) Looks wonderful
Needed the 45k service and an alignment.

Bought it for $24k. Did the service and alignment for $1600.

Never looked back.

Take a knowledgeable unbiased 911 3.2 owner with you if at all possible- very important. Take it for a drive where you can use all five gears, suspension and brakes, look EVERYWHERE.... under, inside and between of every space you can. Ask lots of questions on history, maintenance, problems, upgrades. Don't wait to long or it may be sold if you can't recognize a keeper from a walker. Guessing $21.5k +/- 2k depending on what you find right or wrong. A nice G-50 is worth a lot to me and good examples are getting rarer by the day.

Assuming the low miles also means the car was generally well cared for and in great condition I would say 24-25K is top dollar and 22K would be a great deal.

For perspective, my car is in excellent original condition with only an APE chip added by the PO. Outstanding cosmetic and mechanical condition albeit without records (had major service done to establish new baseline) West Coast car, no winters will go on sale for 19K as it has higher mileage than the one you are considering (119K).

Good luck.

Beautiful cars everyone - I really like this color!

Thanks for all of your input. I'm continuing to look but this one is a possibility.

I hope I'm not stating something that you are already aware of, and certainly not knocking a low mileage car at all. Just be aware that a car that isn't driven regularly may exhibit it's own unique issues. Paint and bodywork may be rust and chip free, and the interior may look like new, but certain seals may have dried out from low use, hence reduced lubrication. Make sure whomever does your PPI checks the motor for such things. Oh and sweet color!
