Default 87’ completely dead.. DME?

Hi all. 87 911 has cut off a few times when I’ve been driving lately. Usually when I push clutch to change gears… just completely dies.. 3 times I was able to just turn key and it restarted. Just this morning it died while rolling into driveway. Now completely dead.. no power, nothing. Is this a DME or alternator? (As a side note.. about 3 months ago I had a very reputable shop here in Florida do some electrical work.. pulling out old cables.. phone cords, miscellaneous radio amplifiers. A huge box full of wires and boxes from 35 years of add ons) but the car Ran great up till last week when cut out problem started

You need to call your "very reputable shop". Start there.

When you say completely dead, do you mean zero power from the battery? No lights, radio, etc? Will it crank over, just not start? Battery voltage?
