Question big problem with my 911 1975....need help

Hello!

I'm from quebec, canada. I need some help to find the problem on my car. Under 1500 r.p.m my car run only on 5 cylinder. Afet 1500 r.p.m, it's find. I change plug, wire, gaz filter....etc. On hiddle, he run rich on gaz too. If someone can help me, i really appreciate. I see the summer passing but my car still in the garage...

Could be the distributer cap is beginning to crack or the lead pick up point (where the rotor transfers power) on the cap is wearing. Also check earth on low tension side.

I would start by trying to establish if it is the same cylinder failing to fire each time or if it's radom - pull each lead in turn. Once this is established it will begin to limit the search.

I read that the fuel dist has a plug with small parts that could fall out when being removed. After removal of plug etc lift the air sensor to flush out dirt. I wrote plug but it could be a fuel line. a pro definately knows because I''ve never had to do it.

I had a similar problem with my 3.2 last week. After some troubleshooting, I found excessive resistance when checking the distributor cap. Replaced it and all is now fine. Mine also seemed to be missing one cylinder, but I could never isolate which one.
