Is there an alternate option / location to the "in oil tank" oil level sensor? My oil level gauge is not working. Oil pressure gauge is working fine. All of the 'how-to's" show the oil level sensor mounted in the oil tank behind the right rear wheel. My 1970 911T does not have any visible wires or sensor mounted there.

I dont think that is possible unless it had an aftermarket tank installed.

My 71T has the same tank as your 70T. I had some seepage at mine and replaced it. Are you SURE you don't have a sensor? Pull passenger rear tire, it's mounted on the fender / bodywork side of the tank. it's a simple float arrangement. You should have the wiring there.

hope someone didn't cut the wires.

@Spyerx Thx for the response! Yea, I know where it should be, but there are no wires, no 5 bolts, no indication anything was ever mounted there. it's completely smooth on the wheel well side of the oil tank. Do the earlier models have a sensor on the back side of the engine between the carbs..near the oil pressure sensor? My 70 T has a '67 S engine swapped in it.

its likely on the other side of the tank ... some were in a different location on some years.

Not sure if it will help, but this EarlyS thread has photos of many different early oil tanks: https://www.early911sregistry.org/fo...7-Oil-Tanks-ID

They do all seem to have the sender unit on the wheel side, towards the front (except 1972). So no easy explanation here.

Oil level is on the tank.

Oil pressure is at the case center near vents or on front near fan, originally w/o oil fed tensioners it would be on the case center.

Oil pressure switch (ie idiot light which some cars had but was also added on later cars) is on the case center near vents.

Oil temperature is on the case near fan, bottom right as you look at engine

It’s not on the wheel well side , it’s on the other side I’m pretty sure …Bert
