Has anyone tried the Quad Lock Vent mount in a 911 G-series?

I have not. Would be afraid of vent breakage.

I have the suction window mount with the charging head hardwired into the car.

I do like the idea however, as it would not block the window as much, not that it has been an issue.

right, i also have the suction mount. probably is the safer / non-destructive or leaving adhesive gunk behind...

I also use this one. I use it with the MagSafe connector and it works very well and is out of the way. I wouldn't attach anything to the vents in these old cars. That old plastic is pretty brittle by now, no need to test your luck.

+1 on the rennline mount with MagSafe -- works great, is in the right spot and is stable.
