Default Detailed Engine (2.7) Pics

Well, we finally detailed the underside of the engine. hit the top a bit as well, very carefully I might add. it's looking pretty nice. Will be nice to see if there are any leaks and where they are coming from. Unfortunately we missed most of the tranny when we went to the pressure spray station so we hit it with some gunk when we returned home. kinda hard to see where to hit when the cars so low. ehh its a learning experience, turned out well though.
just a couple photos for now, more to come very soon. its too late to re-size them all tonight. hehe
enjoy!

Do you have any pics of the engine mounted oil cooler? I just degreased my 2.7 in order to track down some leaks, found it was mostly my oil cooler, but for the life of me I cannot find the top mounting bolt??

What are you using as a degreasing agent? Ok for the top of the engine also?

Nice and clean.

I believe Porsche coat the engines (and rear suspension arms) to stop the metal oxidising - a whitish powder forms which is a form of oxidation so unless the car is for concours this has to be considered.

I used Simple Green mostly. Worked quite well. Be careful on the top side. Make sure you cover all electronic items and dont apply too much pressure too close. (if using a pressure sprayer)
I will try and get some pics of the oil cooler for you. Which one are you referencing? Location? I am still learning more about this engine.

pjc - Car is not going for Concours just yet... haha Just trying to clean it up and look for any possible leaks and know what were dealing with. A clean engine is a happy engine afterall.

There were awhole bunch of posts about whether it was agood idea to use Simple Green after USAF put out a bulletin not to use it. I stopped using it then. At a min., be sure to not let it sit long on AL or esp. on Mg.
