So I bought a barely running 1972 911T with MFI and in reading thru the notes that came with the car a "manual start enrichment relay override switch" was installed at some point. It was a Florida car all its life so maybe that explains it. Should I remove this switch? There is no way to tell which switch position is on or off but thru trail and error I may figure it out . . .just seems odd that you would not know the position of the switch as it is a push in switch with no detent or "on" light. Also what additional mods were made in conjunction with this switch?

I seem to recall something similar on one or more of the earliest cars I first owned , mine had a small red button on dash and it provided a quick squirt of raw fuel into the top of intake manifold for hard starting temps .. mfi cars only
Probably removed or disconnected for fear of fire on most cars stateside …Bert

After doing more research I have come to find this is a common mod on MFI cars called "manual enrichment relay override switch" and it is a way to compensate for cold or hot start problems . . and supposedly it works much better than the stock configuration. When it is cold I turn on ignition . . press the override switch for 5 seconds and then crank the starter. If its warmer I press for shorter duration.
