'86 Carrera Cab tires
Looking for recommendations for new tires on my '86 Carrera Cab. Live in Houston, TX so I don't really have to worry about dealing with winter weather. Car currently has Michelin Pilot Sport A/3 tires which are way outdated.
All suggestions are greatly appreciated in advance!!

I have Firestone Indy Firehawks on my 85 Carrera cab. I know there is no brand cachet here but these tires are way less expensive rebranded Bridgestone Potenzas. Compare the treads and of course Firestone is owned by Bridgestone. They have a great 60's retro look. (I have 7" and 8" 16" Fuchs)
I have Pilot 4s on my other two good cars BTW and I think these Firehawks are great drivers even in wet conditions. I love driving canyons and backcountry twisties and these tires give me a lot of confidence and road feel; that's what we pay for with these air cooled cars.

I'm running Michelin pilot exalto PE2 in Houston. Been very happy in wet and dry - only had them for a couple hundred miles and 6 months. - but so far so good.

I run Nitto NT01 on my '86 Cabriolet Turbo. Perfect for Houston, especially when it's hot out - they're really sticky. One complaint is that as they wear they do get more noisy than other options. Good luck.
