Very interesting and very impressive. What this also reminds me/brings home to me is that my "dream car" - the '72 911S, as are all the pre '76's -is SERIOUSLY prone to rust. Of course I knew this already, but the pictures are a graphic, undeniable reminder. Makes me sit back and wonder, "Hmmmm, maybe I will re-consider an SC?!".
I will be interested to see the progress and the finished results. Thanks for sharing and good luck. Despite the obvious hassle and expense, I envy the results you're probably going to arrive at. -Dan

Update for this week.
More photos posted.
Quarter flares completed.
Rocker rust removed.
Rockers completed.
Rear seats and rust removed. New seat pans from 76 donor to be installed.
Rear Deck lid and rust removed. New deck lid from donor to be installed
Gas tank filler removed from factory fender.
Gas tank filler fitted to carbon fender.

Removing the cancer in the trunk.
This goes to show you, if you see rust on the surface, multiply by 10x.
Removed front gas tank support
Removed front suspension pan
Replaced rear seat pans
Replaced rear deck lid
Replaced front trunk lip
Later this week:
Complete welding of new panels.
Prep interior for paint.
Prep trunk for paint.
