The 87 system works just fine, unlike the earlier systems with the smaller vents. Buy a new dryer and expansion valve, and expensive r12 or high quality substitute and fix YOUR system. If the r12 is still in there you are lucky, a GOOD ac shop can evacuate it out of the system, fix the system and then add it back in. R12 cools much better at lower pressures than r134a

Where are you located - I had the Griffiths reliability 2 package (parts and labor) for 5k in houston

Today in Alabama with outside temp of 93F and feels like 107F. Over the road temps were95F. Griff's package in the 88 Cab. Running strong since 2008.



Outside Temp was 95F over the road.

Vent temp was a Keuhl 34F. It was steady-state 32F, but I took the picture after idling for about 5 minutes.
