Default XM antenna question on a Cab

I've got an 88 Cab with a tail. Has anyone thought about installing the XM radio antenna on the tail? Does the antenna have to be near the center of the vehicle for best reception? Thanks!

i install xm all the time. I put the antenna in the car. The antenna are so small now i put it on the rear deck of the cabs. it will work fine and it is out of sites. Lift up the carpeted deck lid and put a little hole in it and run the antenna thru and leave it up on the deck. You cant even notice it. Have it on my own cab that way. www.soundfxny.com

I'll second that... my xm antenna is on the rear deck lid, inside the car on the passenger side - works great and no ugly wart on the outside of the car ;-) I also have one mounted inside my jeep wrangler on the roll bar, and it works fine through the fiberglass hard top.
