Default Advice needed 2.2 Motor, rebuild or exchange?

Advice needed, I'm building an 911R tribute out of a 1969 E non matching numbers, current engine is a 1970 T 2.2 and has very low compression, Locally I can get another 2.2 with great compression and PMOs for $7,500 in exchange, there are new components in it so we asume it was rebuilt, does the exchange seem reasonable or should I put my $ into rebuilding and I will know for sure what's in it, Also Can I get a boost on displacement for that motor for around that budget?

Thanks for looking and your imput!

7500 seems like too much of a steal to me ... something is up .

I agree. $7500 for a rebuilt engine swap seems an impossibly great price.

great deal on that other engine, too good to be true in my opinion. Maybe buy it and keep your engine just in case, since no numbers match you cannot go wrong

I think he said in exchange so possibly a core component , I concur sounds a bit to cheap for a fully built unit unless you are able to test it it could pay to get higher compression and possibly displacement P's and C's as well as camshafts and your in a whole different playing field..Bert
