Seat Base and Fire Extinguisher Mount
I took my seats out of our '87 Carrera yesterday and am going to ship them to Rob at Classic 9 for new covers. I've never taken G series seats out before and have a question for the experts on the forum.
1. On the passenger side there were spacers installed, and they were not installed in the drivers side. See #1 in my picture. Is this spacer installed in all 911's? Or is to make up for no power features on the passenger side seat? There was no power features in the passenger seat.
2. What is the big sealed off plug (#2 in my picture)?
3. I purchased a fire extinguisher from a forum member here and would like to mount it somewhere, but it is rather short and stubby compared to the longer thinner ones I see installed in a lot of cars. Any idea where I could source a mount for this car?
4. Last of all, as long as I have it opened up like this, what would you advice for preventative maintenance other than a proper cleaning?
Thanks!

I have an 89 and removed the seats multiple times and i've never seen the spacer you pictured on my car or other 911's.I'm guessing it must be some sort
of add on to change the angle of the seating position, and the bolts are obviously longer than the OEM standard ones.
Cheers

ive never seen anything like those.. mine were just sliders.. slide forward , undo rear bolts. slide back undo front ones.
i would imagine an 87-89 has electric seats so i imagine that's what the connector is.

I believe it is to make up for the no power passenger seat so the height is the same.
Can't find the thread on it at the moment, but I am pretty sure you are correct.
