Default Strange part 1970T - What is it?

Hi,

Anyone recognize the brown/orange thing in the picture?

I don't know if this is an original thing or if some prev user added it for some reason I cant figure out.

It is like a stiff wire but not very hard (If that makes any sense). I just cant figure out what it is supposed to do except maybe work like a ground wire or so.

Any help is appreciated.

Happy New Year by the way!

Dan

Looks like someone jury-rigged a holder for the gas tank vent box. Should be a rubber strap. You can still get them. I don't recall the part number:

Holds item 41 in the picture under the cowl:

Thank you - I would never found this myself!

The previous owner must have replaced the vent box with the red one you see in the picture below.

Hmmm. So I have the option to remove the red one with one that is hidden.

The rubber ring is no 42 in the diagram and has part number 90120161822

Yes :-)

(It is a 1970 with 930 brakes and suspension + a 3.4 liter Carrera 3.2 engine.)

Now see, this is why we need photos. After 10+ years around here, you should know that.

We all know what a 1970 911T looks like. What you have there is something else. It's beautiful.
